Byw’n Iach has received the Insport Bronze third sector Award!

Insport is an accreditation offered by Disability Sport Wales.

To achieve the bronze award, we have presented evidence highlighting that we are developing inclusive opportunities across our leisure and sports provision throughout the whole of Gwynedd.

The Insport Panel has indicated that Byw’n Iach succeeds in ensuring that inclusion is natural in all stages of work and demonstrates the necessary behaviours to implement an inclusive culture across the leisure centres, community hubs and all types of activities which we are involved with, together with ensuring that staff complete disability inclusion training.

By now 81% of our staff have attended DIT training (Disability Inclusion Training) and more courses are planned.

Our marketing and communication plan includes developments to the website, so that anyone with disabilities can use it. Also stated in the plan is our intention to promote information about all the opportunities for disabled people in one central place on the website.

This is what the Panel had to say “Disability Sport Wales will continue to support Byw’n Iach to achieve their local priorities, and with inclusion being rooted in the Byw’n Iach culture, this responsibility and vision, that inclusion is everyone’s role, offers an opportunity rather than a challenge.”

A spokesperson for Byw’n Iach said “We are very proud that the good work done day in and day out has been recognized by Disability Sport Wales. We will move on straight away to start working towards the Silver Award and introduce even more inclusive opportunities to our local communities.”
